Pillar Candle Care -for a steady burn, minimal dripping, and beautiful ambience
- Pillar candles behave differently from jar candles — they’re free‑standing, so they need a little extra attention to burn evenly.
- On the first burn, allow a melt pool to form 1–2cm from the edge. This helps prevent deep tunnelling.
- Keep the wick trimmed to 5mm before each burn to reduce smoking and help keep a controlled flame.
- Burn for 2–3 hours at a time. Short burns can cause tunnelling; too long burns may lead to dripping or leaning
- Turn the candle to help it burn evenly, especially in cooler rooms or near gentle airflow.
-
If a soft “shell” forms around the edge, gently fold the softened wax inward (never over the flame). This helps the candle burn evenly and reduces waste.
-
Keep away from open windows, fans, or vents. Drafts cause uneven burning and dripping.
-
Always burn pillar candles on a flat, heat‑resistant surface.
- When the candle reaches 1–1.5cm of wax, snuff the candle out to protect your surfaces.
