Your
1. Trim Your Wick

Trim your wick to 1cm before each burn. Keeping your wick trimmed is essential, It removes the dead carbon from the top of wick, to help the wick burn, and reduces the soot given off.

2. Use an Illuma-Lid

Illuma-lids (or jar toppers) are amazing. They reflect heat back into the candle to help the wax pool. They also help to steady the flame for a clean and even burn.

3.

Allow the wax to pool (liquefy) to the edges of the jar this helps to prevent tunnelling.. For Large Jars burn for approx 3.5 - 4hrs

4. Protect Your Surfaces

The decorative trays help prevent heat damage to your surfaces, and Shades encourage an even burn.
But both look great together and bring a little style to your Yankee Candle

5. Positioning

Positioning of the candle is important, always ask yourself, "Will it be in a draught?".
"Can anything around it blow into the flame?".
"Is it secure and upright?"
"Is anything around it flammable"
Think Safety!

6. Putting the Candle Out

Use a candle snuffer to put out the flame.
Quickly and carefully place the snuffer over the flame ('But don't dip') until the flame extinguishes. This reduces smoke and wax escaping the candle.

7. When is it finished?

A frequent question is: "Why is there approx a 1cm of wax left at the bottom of the jar?" This is a safety feature of the Yankee Candles and helps you to know when it is time to get out a new Candle to burn.

Tips For Personalised Candles

With decorated or personalised candles people always say:
"Oh you couldn't light it could you ?".
All you do is light the wick for about 1 - 1½ hours then extinguish.

Get an empty metal cup from a tea light, turn it rim down and gently press into the softened wax around the wick. Scoop out the inner circle of wax. Repeat this two or three times, The remaining hole is now a perfect fit for a Tea Light.

Pop in a tea light, and your enjoy the candle no-one ever notices!
